A Baton Rouge judge has signed the amended temporary restraining order against the NCAA, Southeastern Conference and Commissioner Greg Sankey.
The TRO was submitted by the Texas Trial Group and local attorney Tony Clayton on behalf of 42 former student-athletes attempting to return to collegiate athletics for the 2026-27 school year. The initial TRO filed a week ago came on behalf of 33 athletes and did not include the conference or the commissioner.
On Thursday, September 3, the hearing for a preliminary injunction will be held in Baton Rouge. The TRO contains an order which requires the NCAA to be in court on that date. Judge William Jordan who signed the TRO will preside over the case.
Should the temporary injunction be granted, the players would be eligible by law to return to college.
