Positions Saints could pursue after roster cuts

The roster cut deadline across the NFL is fast approaching. Along with establishing 53-man rosters across the league, a fresh group of available talent will also flood the market.

When that happens, the New Orleans Saints have a few positions they could pursue new additions and options. Here are a few of those positions and why they could use additional attention.

Cornerback

The Saints’ cornerback depth will generate some obvious interest. While corners Martin Emerson Jr. and Jayden Price have brought some promise to the room, adding additional talent would be wise on the perimeter.

Veteran corner Isaac Yiadom is a solid special teams contributor, but was on the wrong side of a lot of big plays this offseason. Finding additional options would make sense here.

Defensive Tackle

New Orleans will end up with a unique blend of young and veteran players here. Despite that, the team could always look to add to and advance the room further.

The Saints reportedly showed interest in defensive lineman Gervon Dexter Sr. before he was sent to the Atlanta Falcons instead.

Tight End

After losing second-year tight end Moliki Matavao and while rookie tight end Oscar Delp is managing a hamstring injury, this could be a position the Saints look to add some supplemental help.

Even if just temporarily, the Saints should be active here. Especially considering how much they plan to incorporate multi-tight end sets in 2026.
