This week promised drama. It delivered on Tuesday. Literally.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports that LSU defensive end Princewill Umanmielen was served court papers in the parking lot of LSU football operations. Ole Miss is suing the former Rebels standout for $550,000 in revenue sharing which he agreed to, and signed for, in early January. Weeks later, he entered the transfer portal and enrolled at LSU.

The contract between the player and the school asserted a breach within 90 days triggered the penalty. ESPN also reported that both Umanmielen and Devin Harper, a reserve offensive line with the Tigers, were served with a summons in mid-August.
Umanmielen is leading the country with five sacks in two games. He led the Rebels in taking down quarterbacks a season ago.
The week had been quiet and light on bulletin board material. Tuesday’s development will certainly add fuel to the fire.
