METAIRIE – The New Orleans Saints have added two players to help bolster depth at injured positions. Both players were a part of tryouts earlier in the week.

The Saints have added edge rusher David Ojabo, a former second-round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens, and former Indianapolis Colts running back Ulysses Bentley IV.

Ojabo played out his rookie contract with the Ravens, tallying 4.5 sacks, two tackles for a loss over his 32 game appearances. He was a highly touted prospect coming out of Michigan where he played one full season in 2021, amassing 11 sacks that year.

While his production hasn’t continued in the NFL, the Saints have done well in getting the most out of athletic pass rushers from other programs. Perhaps they can continue that luck with Ojabo.

Two of the Saints’ edge rushers, Carl Granderson (ankle) and Anfernee Jennings (knee) are dealing with injuries after the team’s Week 3 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. At 6-4, and 250 pounds, Ojabo’s the kind of athletic, win-with-bend edge rusher the Saints could stand to add opposite Chase Young, who has matched the rest of the team with 3.5 sacks through the first three games.

Bentley, a 5-foot-9, 201-pound rusher, has received just one carry for no yards through his career. With Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller, C.J. Donaldson and Zamir White (practice squad) all are available despite the hamstring injury expected to sideline starter Travis Etienne Jr., Bentley will likely be a reserve in case the Saints need another option in later weeks.
