After losing a five-star quarterback commit from the 2026 class Thursday, Kirby Smart and Georgia wasted little time in finding another five-star to replace him. This time it came in the form of 2025 defensive lineman Elijah Griffin.
Griffin, a 6-foot-4, 300 pound lineman from Pooler, Georgia, is ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to On3. He ranks in the top ten nationally in every major recruiting service, and was one of just five remaining uncommitted five-star prospects nationally in the 247Sports Composite.
The commitment gives the Dawgs their 23rd overall commitment for the 2025 class and moves them up to No. 3 in 247’s team rankings as well. He also became the third five-star in this Georgia class. All three are on the defensive side of the ball.
Griffin had more 40 offers from major college program around the country. He chose Georgia over Southern Cal, South Carolina, and Miami.
