BATON ROUGE, La. — Anthony Eyanson struck out 12 Alabama hitters over six innings of work to lead LSU to a 4-3 win Friday at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. The Tigers go for the series sweep Saturday at 5 p.m.
LSU scored two runs in the third and fourth innings each. Chris Stanfield scored on Daniel Dickinson’s RBI single to get LSU on the board. Dickinson would later come around to score on Jared Jones’s RBI double. Freshman Derek Curiel’s two-RBI single in the fourth finished the scoring for the Tigers.

Riley Quick suffered the loss for Alabama. He lasted 3.1 innings, surrendering four runs on eight hits.
Both teams had opportunities to take control of the game, but each pitching staff stamped out rallies. LSU stranded a dozen base runners, including leaving the bases loaded twice. Alabama left ten men on base.
Alabama got on the board in the top of the first on an RBI groundout by Kade Snell after Bryce Fowler and Justin Lebron singled and doubled to open the game. Eyanson limited the damage in the first despite allowing two hits and two walks in the frame.
Zac Cowan earned the save for the Tigers, hurling the final three innings. He allowed two runs on four hits, struck out four and did not issue a walk.
Sophomore Chase Shores is slated to start Saturday for LSU. He will face off against Alabama’s ace Zane Adams.
