Josh Heupel revealed some bad news Monday as senior linebacker Keenan Pili is out for the season.
Pili suffered a torn ACL against Florida on Saturday and will miss the remaining six games of the season.
“Keenan – I said it after the game. There’s nobody that represents Tennessee better than him,” Huepel said. “He’s a great leader and will continue to be that inside of our building. Just, you know, heartbroken for him and his family. A guy that does absolutely everything right and, you know, is special. A special player but a special person, too. He has got a great future.”
Through six games, Pili was tied for the team lead in tackles with 29. The senior from Las Vegas also had one and half tackles for loss and three quarterback hurries on the season.
Tennessee plays Alabama in Knoxville this Saturday.
