Jayden Daniels left the Commaders game against the Panthers in the first quarter with a rib injury. After being evaluated on the sideline, he was taken to the locker room, throwing his helmet in a clear sign of frustration. He would return to the sideline in street clothes.

Daniels rushed for 47 yards on the Commanders first play from scrimmage.

The CBS broadcast showed several clips of Daniels wincing in pain during the first quarter, although there did not appear to be a singular play that caused the injury.

Daniels exited the game with the Commanders leading Carolina 10-0. He was repalced by Marcus Mariotta.
