We say it every week. Politicians lie. Five-foot-eight men on dating apps lie. But, numbers never lie. We had a wild week 12 across the SEC with some incredible stat lines, historic box scores and several wild streaks snapped. Here are the SEC Week 12 Numbers to Know.
3 – Auburn scored on their opening drive of the game against Louisiana Monroe. That’s their first opening drive resulting in a touchdown since week three.
99 – Auburn had a 99-yard scoring drive in the second quarter against Louisiana Monroe. That was their first 99-yard scoring drive since 2012 against LSU.
65: Florida uses presnap motion on 65 percent of their offensive plays which is the most of any team in the SEC
3: Alabama scored on its first three drives of the game against Mercer which is the second time they’ve done that this season. The other was against Georgia when they scored on their first four drives.
5: Alabama has now played Mercer five times in program history. And, for the fifth time, we are asking why?
2: Texas has wins over two teams with winning records, Colorado State (7-3) and Vanderbilt (6-4).
22/1: Jalen Milroe has a 22-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio in the month of November over the last two seasons.
0: Opponents who have had more penalties than Alabama in a game against the Tide this year.
4: South Carolina scored a touchdown with 39 seconds left in the first half against Missouri. That’s the fourth time in the last five games that they’ve successfully ran a two minute drill resulting in points before halftime with three of the four scores being touchdowns.
12: LSU had four consecutive drives against Florida totaling 12 plays or more
209: South Carolina threw for 209 yards in the first half against Missouri. That’s more than they had five of their first seven games of the season.
44: LSU ran the ball 44 times against Florida which is a season high
7: LSU allowed seven sacks against Florida. They had allowed six all season.
92: LSU ran 92 plays against Florida which is the most in any game in the last four years.
7: Brian Kelly had won 10 or more games in seven consecutive seasons prior to this year. That streak is now over after Saturday’s loss to Florida.
65: LSU has been outscored by 65 points in their last 10 quarters, 100-35.
5: Tennessee scored first on Georgia for the fifth consecutive game in the series.
103: Tennessee has scored first in five straight games against Georgia. They have then been outscored by a combined 103 points in the remainder of those games, losing by an average of 20.6 ppg.
23-6: South Carolina is 23-6 under Shane Beamer when winning or finishing even in the turnover battle. They are 3-15 when they lose it.
353: Missouri allowed 353 yards passing to South Carolina. That’s the second-most they’ve allowed in a game in the last 5 years.
1: Georgia is the first team to score 20 or more points against Tennessee’s defense all season. The Vols had held their previous ten opponents to under 20 points for the first time since 1966.
6: Georgia had six plays of 20 yards or more by six different players against Tennessee.
7: Since 2012, South Carolina has seven wins when trailing in the final minute of a game. Three of those seven have been against Missouri.
