The former four-star from Catholic High (Baton Rouge) will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Sampson came to LSU in the class of 2023 as the No. 80 overall player and the 14th best receiver in the country accoring to the On3 Composite.
Despite the lofty expectations, the production hasn’t materialized on the field. As a freshman in 2023, Sampson saw action in just three games. This season, he played in eight games without recording a reception.
Sampson joins CJ Daniels as LSU receivers who plan to enter the portal. LSU received a big boost earlier Thursday when Aaron Anderson announced he would return for the 2025 season. Anderson was second on the team in receptions and receiving yards in 2024.
The transfer portal window officially opens Monday, Dec. 9.
