If you thought the strength of schedule rankings in the Big Ten were soft, just wait until you hear about the politicians they have up there.
On the heels of the postgame melee between Michigan and Ohio State, Ohio Representative Josh Williams has introduced a bill that would make flag planting a felony.
I’m serious.
The bill he introduced is called the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act and would “prohibit planting a flagpole and flag in the center of the Ohio Stadium football field on the day of a college football game and to name this act the O.H.I.O. Sportsmanship Act.”
The bill also is only specific to an action occurring at Ohio State’s stadium, not anywhere else in the state. When asked if he expected the bill to pass, house speaker Jason Stephens said it is doubtful since the two-year general assembly is over next week.
That’s one reason, sure.
