METAIRIE, La. – The New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers have released their second injury report of the week. There were no changes in terms of participation for either team. Saturday’s injury report will include game designations.
Here is the information from Thursday’s practice report.
New Orleans Saints
Did Not Practice:
QB Derek Carr (Left Hand/Concussion)
WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Chest/Illness)
WR Bub Means (Ankle)
RB Alvin Kamara (Groin)
DE Chase Young (Illness)
Limited Participation:
WR Chris Olave (Head)
TE Juwan Johnson (Foot)
Full Participation:
CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Shoulder)
The only change for the Saints on Friday wasn’t a shift in participation but instead a shift in one player’s status. After being held out of practice on Thursday, Valdes-Scantling missed again on Friday. It was clear that something new had arisen based on interim head coach Darren Rizzi’s evaluation that the team had simply played it safe with the wideout. That was indeed the case he missed Friday with illness, independent of the chest injury.
Carr remained out of practice, continuing the belief that rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler will start Monday against the Packers. Meanwhile wide receiver Chris Olave was again present and participated in the activation period seen by the media. He was again listed as questionable though it is not presently certain whether or not he took part in team work.
Green Bay Packers
Did Not Practice:
LB Quay Walker (Ankle)
S Javon Bullard (Ankle)
Limited Participation:
CB Corey Balentine (Knee)
TE Luke Musgrave (Ankle)
Full Participation:
CB Jaire Alexander (Knee)
No changes for the Packers on Friday. Saturday will be the day to watch for Alexander. Each of the last two weeks, he has been a full participant for the first two days of practices before being a non-participant the final day. Each week he has also been inactive on game day. That cadence may change this week.
