South Carolina collective announces deal keeping LaNorris Sellers with Gamecocks

Christmas came early for South Carolina as the Garnet Trust–South Carolina’s collective–made a Christmas Eve announcement that quarterback LaNorris Sellers would be staying in Columbia through the 2025 season.

The terms of the deal were not announced, but On3 estimates Sellers’ valuation at $2.7 million, which would seventh in the country for FBS players.

According to sources from LockedOn Gamecocks, the staff began working on a deal with Sellers as early as the first bye week of the season in early October. Sellers and freshman EDGE Dylan Stewart were two priorities for the staff to keep in Columbia, and they succeeded in doing both.

Sellers finished his redshirt freshman year by leading the Gamecocks to six consecutive wins. He also finished the regular season with 2,929 yards of offense and 24 touchdowns.

The Gamecocks will play Illinois in the CheezIt Citrus Bowl on December 31st.
