The New Orleans Saints will finish their seasons with seven starters on offense off of the field. Not an ideal way to close things out, but unfortunately representative of how things have gone for the team throughout the year.
Here are the inactives for their season finale.
QB Derek Carr (Left Hand)
LB Willie Gay Jr. (Shoulder)
LB Pete Werner (Concussion)
RB Kendre Miller (Concussion)
RB Alvin Kamara (Groin)
WR Mason Tipton
DT Khristian Boyd
With Carr, Kamara and Olave (Injured Reserve) not able to make their way back to the field to close out the season, they join Rashid Shaheed, Taysom Hill, Lucas Patrick, Erik McCoy as the seven offensive starters from Week 1 missing by the season’s end.
That should put rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler and veteran running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire into a keen focus for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
With Gay Jr. also ruled out along with Werner, young linebackers Nephi Sewell and Anernee Orji will be called into action alongside Demario Davis.
