Brady was on staff with the Saints as an offensive assistant during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He then joined the LSU Tigers on a historic national championship run in 2019.
The former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator could now return to the state of Louisiana to help coach the New Orleans Saints after they moved on from former coach Dennis Allen during the 2024 NFL season.
The success Brady has found in Buffalo since taking over at the interim offensive coordinator partway through 2023 has been astonishing. He has led an offense that has gotten an MVP-caliber season out of quarterback Josh Allen, despite having no big-name wide receivers to lead the way and has revitalized the run game in Buffalo with running backs James Cook and Ty Johnson.
Brady’s growth potential has been on full display from his days in Carolina to the success he’s now had in Buffalo. That is part of why he has been on several head coach opening interview lists and why he is considered one of the top options in New Orleans.
The Bills will be taking the field for their divisional round tilt against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday. Once Buffalo’s season comes to an end, Brady will be available for in-person interviews. If he lands one, it will be a further indication of his viability as a candidate for the Saints’ open head coach role.
