Way-too-early Top 25 for 2025: Eight SEC schools make the cut

I’ve always said one of my least favorite things as a content consumer is the immediate release of way-too-early Top 25 lists and predictions for the next season, often just minutes after the current season ends. That was before I had a job in content creation. Regardless, it’s never too early to look ahead to next season—especially when the current season ended with far less SEC involvement than expected.

So, it’s on to 2025! Keep in mind these are way-too-early rankings, and there’s still plenty of time before we can make more concrete declarations and predictions. Of course, I’m referring to the release of the preseason Phil Steele magazine, which covers every possible stat, player, portal entry, and prediction imaginable.

Until then, here’s my best attempt at a way-too-early Top 25 for 2025, featuring eight SEC schools.
