Glenn was also scheduled to meet with the Saints this week, had he not reached an agreement with the Jets. Now, that meeting will be canceled and New Orleans will move on to another one of its other top options.
The former Saints defensive backs coach has been a focus for the head coaching role in New Orleans since the moment the Saints fired former coach Dennis Allen. However, his ties to the Jets and the fact that New York has an open general manager position that could be filled by someone Glenn wants to work with were major selling points.
The Saints will now turn their attention to other candidates, with three expected to interview in-person late this week, as a rare snowstorm in the state of Louisiana clears.
New Orleans still have several impressive options to consider including Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady, ex-Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.
