Beamer signs contract extension through 2030 with South Carolina

South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer received a raise and contract extension early Friday. The new deal runs through the 2030 season and increases his salary to more than $8 million annually.

Beamer was hired in December of 2020 and will now receive his second extension from the university in just a little over four years. His previous contract, which he signed after the 2022 season when South Carolina closed with two top ten wins over Tennessee and Clemson, ran through the 2027 season and would pay him $6.625 million.

This current contract will increase his salary to a base of $8.15 million per year and will increase by $100,000 every year through 2030. Beamer made sure to finalize the contracts of his assistants prior to the bowl game and before finalizing his own deal. 

This is the second coaching extension given to a South Carolina coach since the start of the year. Less than two weeks ago, new athletic director Jeremiah Donati also signed head women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley to a record contract of five years that will amount to $25 million. 

South Carolina finished the 2024 football season 9-4 after being projected to win five games. That included six straight wins to close out the regular season. Heading into next season, the Gamecocks will almost surely be a preseason top 15 team. They currently have the 14th best odds to win the national title and quarterback LaNorris Sellers has the seventh best odds to win the Heisman Trophy.
