Brian Kelly’s challenge was accepted. And met.
Thursday LSU announced that $3.2 million was raised as a result of Kelly’s Million Dollar Match initiative in December.
Kelly pledged to match up to $1 million to Tiger Athletic Foundation’s AD’s Excellence Fund for every dollar raised by Bayou Traditions.
In less than two months time, LSU secured an anonymous $1 million gift as well as $2.2 million from more than 1,600 supporters. The money will be used by Bayou Traditions to provide Name, Image and Likeness funds to student-athletes.
“We’re in a much better place than we were, say, eight months ago,” Kelly said. “Our roster, our staff, our focus on NIL and our ability to raise money for NIL have put us in a position where I know our program is now poised to be a championship program.”
Thanks to more than 1,600 supporters, we have met the match and raised $3.2 million to support our football student-athletes through @bayoutraditions and @lsutaf
