Joe Burrow’s 2023 season ended in injury.
He followed that up by winning NFL’s 2024 Comeback Player of the Year on Thursday. It’s his second time earning the honor. He did so in 2021 after returning from the torn ACL that ended his rookie season.
“I wouldn’t say this is necessarily an award you want to be nominated for two times, but I’m proud of the work I’ve put in to come back from these injuries that I seem to face every year,” Burrow said accepting the award in New Orleans.
Though the Bengals stumbled out of the gate to a 1-4 start, Burrow maintained a high level of play start to finish and led the team to five straight wins to close the season.
The former Tiger and Heisman winner led the NFL in passing yards (4,918) and touchdowns (43) for the first time. He threw for 300-plus yards in seven games threw multiple touchdown passes in 13.
