Oklahoma replaces spring game with Crimson Combine fan event

Oklahoma has officially canceled its Spring game, joining other major college football programs. Oklahoma is now the fourth SEC team to eliminate the annual scrimmage. 

Instead of a traditional 11-on-11 exhibition from the Sooners, they will debut the Crimson Combine as a new Spring tradition. The Crimson Combine will be an event for fans in lieu of a game and will include events like combine style drills, skill challenges, autographs, photos with players and staff, and more.

“This is a brand-new spring football tradition for our fans,” OU Vice President and Director of Athletics Joe Castiglione said in a release. “Crimson Combine will spotlight our players while also giving our fans the ability to get closer to the action and have the chance to engage directly with our team and coaching staff. We’re planning some unique activities that will highlight our players and provide high entertainment value for everyone in attendance.”

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 12. Tickets go on sale March 6 and cost $10.
