Authorities in Oregon arrested LSU football analyst Antonio Parks and charged him with one count of felony strangulation. The Oregonian first reported the news.
Court records accuse Parks of strangling his girlfriend for 30-60 seconds during a December incident.The complaint accuses Parks of being upset over a social media post titled “A Day in the Life of a Stay at Home Girlfriend,” which led to the incident.
Authorities arrested Parks on Monday and released him on Wednesday.
“We are aware of the report and working through the appropriate parties. We have no further comment at this time,” LSU Chief Communication Officer Zach Greenwell told LouisianaSports.net in a statement.
Parks in a native of Reserve, La., who prepped at East St. John High School. He played at Arizona for two seasons before transferring to Texas-San Antonio in 2019 where he played for current LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson.
When his playing career ended, Parks spent time as an analyst at UTSA and Arizona State before joining the Oregon staff for the past two seasons.
LSU hired Parks in February to serve as an offensive analyst.
