LSU forward Smith enters transfer portal

LSU sophomore Sa’Myah Smith has entered the transfer portal one day after the Tigers’ season ended with a regional final loss to UCLA.

The 6-foot-2 forward played in 36 games for the Tigers this season with 27 starts. She averaged six point and six rebounds for Kim Mulkey’s squad.

Smith played in 36 games as a freshman on the national championship squad. She missed all but seven games of her second season in Baton Rouge after suffering a serious knee injury before returning to full strength this season.

Smith was at her best during the NCAA Tournament. She netted season-high scoring totals with 20 points in the second round against Florida State and 21 points in the Sweet 16 win over NC State.
