LSU will features No. 7s on both sides of the football this fall.
Junior tight end Trey’Dez Green and senior linebacker Whit Weeks will wear the number reserved for playmakers in the Tiger program.

Weeks has been a team captain at LSU, but his role goes further than leadership. As a sophomore in 2024, Weeks finished second in the SEC in tackles and ninth nationally with 125. That mark was the eighth highest in school history.
Last season, a broken ankle sidelined him for five games and hobbled him for three more. Weeks spurned the chance to enter the NFL draft during the offseason and will return in a new number.
Green exploded onto the college football scene as a sophomore last year. He made a team-high seven touchdown catches which set the LSU record for scoring receptions by a tight end. Green was a first team preseason All-SEC selection by the media and coaches and is a popular first-round pick in early mock drafts.
Both players represented LSU at SEC Media Days in July.
