NFL increases number of times teams can wear alternate uniforms

PALM BEACH, Fla. – There’s great news for New Orleans Saints uniform discourse coming out of the NFL’s annual owner’s meeting.

Per several reports, the league is now updating its uniform policy and as a result, each team will be permitted to wear alternative or throwback jerseys up to four times per season.

For Saints fans, this will be welcomed news as the color rush and 1967 throwback jerseys are among fan favorites. So much so, that many would love to see them turned into their permanent uniforms.

Earlier this year, Saints linebacker Demario Davis fielded a question about his favorite jersey combination. While he answered the black on black look, which is a successful staple no doubt, he turned to social media to ask the Who Dat Nation what their favorites were. 

To no surprise, aside from the old “mustard jerseys” of the early-aughts, color rush and the ‘67 throwbacks reigned supreme.

Now, thanks to the rule change, Saints fans will get to enjoy their favorites up to four times total beginning in 2024. That is, unless the team decides to unveil new uniform combinations.
