Per Schultz, the Cleveland Browns were the other team to see Milroe in his “impressive” workout. New Orleans has become a popular landing spot for quarterbacks, now holding the top odds to land Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. They’ve also been linked to Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart, Syracuse’s Kyle McCord, and Texas’ Quinn Ewers. It’s no mystery that the Saints are doing their homework on the position.
Milroe is an intriguing prospect. His explosive rushing capabilities have led to many championing for a change of position at the next level. However, some experts believe that investment into his development as a passer could pay dividends with comparisons to Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
The situation and coaching staff would have to be right for Milroe and the Saints should be seen as a possible landing spot to provide him the growth, development, and time that may be needed.

New Orleans has its starter for 2025 in Derek Carr. That would provide Milroe a chance to sit back and work with an offensive staff that’s spearheaded by former NFL quarterbacks.
Head coach Kellen Moore is the winningest quarterback in college football history. Offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier was drafted by the Saints entering the league and quarterback coach Scott Tolzien is a former NFL signal caller himself.
The Saints could be an intriguing landing spot for Milroe to develop his short and intermediate arm and accuracy behind a veteran starter before what is expected to be a big roster overhaul in the 2026 offseason.
Where he goes off of the board will be intriguing to watch. The Saints hold the No. 9 overall pick, which may be considered too early for the dynamic runner who still has room to grow as a passer. But could a trade up in the bottom of the first round be an option? Or perhaps simply waiting to see if he is on the board in Day 2.
The fact that he will be in attendance as the draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24, indicates that there could be day one potential. Whether or not that potential is in New Orleans or elsewhere won’t become clear until later this month.
