NEW ORLEANS — Last season ended both prematurely and in a discomforting nature for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave. But as he gets back out on the field this season, it doesn’t look like the wideout is holding back at all.
Olave has looked comfortable and every bit as explosive as he has since his days at Ohio State throughout offseason programs so far.

The young pass-catcher suffered a pair of concussions in less than a month last season that forced him to miss a total of nine games, including the final eight of the year. He was also evaluated for a head injury in a game during that span.
It would be understandable if Olave’s return to the field (which actually began during the closing weeks of last season) came with a little apprehension. Concussions are a type of traumatic brain injury. They are serious ailments and are not to be taken lightly.
The physical side of recovering from an injury is one thing, but the mental side is another challenge entirely. Olave sounds like he’s handling very well.
“I haven’t seen any signs of him thinking about that or dwelling on it,” wide receivers coach Keith Williams said of the wideout. “We don’t talk about it. Just going north. I haven’t seen any signs of him thinking about that or [it] wearing on him in any way.”
Staying on the field and being healthy will be a massive part of Olave’s story moving forward. If he can, he has all of the ability necessary to be a star receiver in the league. He has moved well and played freely since returning to practices.
It looks like it’s all systems go for Olave in 2025.
