OMAHA, Neb — LSU will send its Friday night starter to the mound in the College World Series opener.
Jay Johnson announced Friday evening that sophomore left hander Kade Anderson will take the ball against Arkansas.
Anderson is 10-1 with a 3.58 ERA. He faced Arkansas back on May 9 and worked 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 10.
Last week in the super regional, Anderson allowed a season high 6 earned runs over 7 innings against West Virginia.
The first pitch between No. 3 national seed Arkansas and No. 6 national seed LSU is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday from Charles Schwab field in Omaha.
