NEW ORLEANS, La. — The roster moves continue for the New Orleans Saints. After signing two former UFL standouts earlier this week, New Orleans now decided to trim its roster count.
Per NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, the Saints have waived running back Xazavian Valladay.

The former Arizona State rusher signed with the Saints late last season and stuck around in a reserve/future deal. He returned for OTAs and minicamps, but following the offseason programs, the Saints have decided to go in a different direction.
Questions were looming at running back after the team signed veteran back Cam Akers following his tryout during mandatory minicamp. The crowded room looked to only be growing until Friday’s move.
Valladay had a standout moment during minicamps, catching a pass deep down the right sideline from quarterback Spencer Rattler.

Valladay, an undrafted free agent entering the league in 2023, spent time with the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets before finding a spot with the Saints. Now, he returns to the open market.
