After Bowe Bentley’s commitment to Oklahoma, LSU’s search for a quarterback in the 2026 cycle turned to Bryson Beaver, a four-star signal caller from Murrieta, CA.
Beaver committed to Oregon on Wednesday.
LSU’s coaching staff extended Beaver an offer over the weekend in hopes that Beaver would hold off on a commitment until after the July-August dead period.
That did not happen.
LSU did not sign a prep quarterback in the 2025 cycle and enters the 2025 season with Garrett Nussmeier, Michael Van Buren and Colin Hurley as on scholarship at the position. Ju’Juan Johnson is also in the group, but he is considered more of a running threat than a traditional quarterback.
Nussmeier is in his final season of eligibility.
