The New Orleans Pelicans selected Oklahoma guard Jeremiah Fears with the seventh overall pick in Wednesday night’s NBA Draft.

Fears played just one season for the Sooners, averaging 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
New Orleans traded guard CJ McCollum to Washington Tuesday in a deal that included the team acquiring guards Jordan Poole and Saddiq Bey.
Dejountae Murray, the team’s top offseason acquisition last year, is expected to miss the upcoming season with a torn Achilles.
New Orleans also holds the 23rd and 40th picks in this year’s draft.
