LSU has added a second left-handed pitcher on Thursday.
Ryler Smart, a former top-200 recruit out of Texas, is transferring to LSU from Tennessee according to his social media profile. Zack Nagy of Tigers on SI reported the news.
Smart redshirted in 2025 with an arm injury. The 6-foot-4 southpaw featured a fastball in the low 90s as a high schooler in Pearland, Texas. He will not be draft eligible until he has played two more college seasons.
Smart joins North Dakota State product Danny Lachenmayer as left-handed pitching additions in the LSU’s portal class.
