The New Orleans Pelicans selected Georgetown wing Micah Peavy in the second round with the No. 40 overall pick.
Peavy is the third player the Pelicans added in the draft after selecting Oklahoma guard Jeremiah Fears seventh overall and trading up to take Derik Queen 13th.

Peavy played five seasons of college basketball, beginning his career at Texas Tech in 2020-2021 where he started 25 games as a freshman. He would spend the next three seasons at TCU where he would play in 98 contests for the Horned Frogs. Peavy spent his final season of eligibility at Georgetown where he started all 32 games and averaged 17.2 points per game.
The 6-foot-8, 220 pound wing made 40-percent of his three-pointers and averaged 37 minutes per game for the Hoyas as a senior.
