Outfielder Ashton Larson will look elsewhere to continue his college career.
He entered the transfer portal on Monday according to Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball.
Larson struggled to find playing time in a crowded LSU outfield in 2025. He saw action in 34 games and was 10-for-39 (.256) on the season. As a freshman in 2024, Larson played in 53 games, made 40 starts and hit .298. He was named Freshman All-SEC.
Derek Curiel and Jake Brown are likely starters in LSU’s 2026 outfield, and incumbent centerfielder Chris Stanfield could return for his senior season, as well.
Larson was a 20th round draft choice out of high school and was named the 2024 Chatham Anglers’ Most Outstanding Player a summer ago in the Cape Cod League.
