Garrett Nussmeier engaged to girlfriend Ella Springfield

While LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is pursuing a national championship ring, he will soon be wearing one with different meaning.

Nussmeier proposed to his girlfriend Ella Springfield over the weekend. The couple announced their engagement in a series of Instagram stories.

Nussmeier, 23, is entering his fifth season with the Tigers and second as the team’s starting quarterback. He is the leading returning passer in college football, having thrown for 4,052 yards in 2024.

Springfield is also an LSU alum.

The Tigers are likely to be ranked in the preseason top ten after adding the nation’s highest-ranked transfer portal class. Nussmeier holds the second best Heisman Trophy odds behind only Texas quarterback Arch Manning.
