Oregon St transfer Trent Caraway commits to LSU

LSU’s 2026 lineup got a second big commitment on Tuesday.

Trent Caraway, the 2025 Corvallis Regional MVP, committed to LSU via social media. Caraway hit five home runs in the regional last month and six in the postseason, the most in Oregon State history in a single NCAA Tournament.

Caraway finished his sophomore season with a .268 batting average and 12 home runs for the Beavers. Strikeouts were a problem, but the 6-foot-2 third baseman has impressive tools and started 64 games for the No. 8 national seed while playing third base.

He made 12 errors at the hot corner, but the bat is Caraway’s best tool.

If Jay Johnson can bring along Caraway as a transfer the way he has with players like Chris Stanfield, the talent is there for an all-conference caliber season.

Caraway becomes the favorite to land the third base job where he’ll see competition from High Point transfer Braydon Simpson, John Pearson and Tanner Reaves.
