Chris Stanfield is coming back for another season.
The junior outfielder was not selected in the 20-round MLB Draft, and Tuesday he posted that he would return to LSU to help defend the national championship in purple and gold.

Stanfield led LSU in hitting during SEC play at .326 and tied for second on the team in doubles with 15. He played an excellent centerfield as well.
Jay Johnson and his staff will have to determine whether or not a position switch with Derek Curiel is afoot much like Steven Milam taking over shortstop from Michael Braswell between 2024 and 2025.
The 2025 season is Curiel’s draft year, and a move to centerfield may help him bolster his stock. When Stanfield had a rough Saturday in College Station defensively, Curiel moved over for game three of that series.
Stanfield brings a good glove, high-floor bat and championship pedigree back to LSU.
