As if nine tight ends on a roster wasn’t already enough, a new name is now on the market at the position and the New Orleans Saints should absolutely be interested.
Per NFL Media, the Seattle Seahawks have parted ways with 2019 first-round tight end Noah Fant.

Fant entered the league as a draft selection of the Denver Broncos. In 2022, he was traded to the Seahawks as a part of the blockbuster deal that sent quarterback Russell Wilson to the Broncos.
Fant appeared in 48 of 51 possible games with Seattle totaling 130 receptions for 1,400 receiving yards and five touchdown catches. He had 10 touchdown receptions while with the Broncos during his first three seasons.
Fant has been a durable mismatch-creating tight end coming out of Iowa, one of the best collegiate programs in training the position.
The release looks to be connected to the Seahawks’ belief in second-year tight end A.J. Barner and now exciting rookie Elijah Arroyo.
With New Orleans currently carrying nine tight ends on its roster, it’s clear that there is some interest in shaking up the room behind top names Juwan Johnson and Foster Moreau.
Going into 2025, there are still questions about Moreau’s availability (who seems further along in his return process) and versatile weapon Taysom Hill.
If the Saints are still interested in seeing options at tight end, Fant should be on their radar. Other teams may be able to provide him a more sure path to production and impact than New Orleans. But adding a durable mismatch piece to this offense could be an intriguing option for the Saints if the opportunity and money make sense.
