Jaden Fauske enrolled in summer school at LSU. He won’t enter a classroom in the fall.
The White Sox second round pick signed for a bonus of $2,997,500 which is $773,900 over his slot value at the No. 44 overall selection.
Fauske is an elite athlete from Illinois that can play all over the diamond and hits for power from the left side. He spent the summer weeks at LSU in school and working out. It was always a very, very long shot he would remain at LSU through the draft.
River Hamilton, a right-handed pitcher from Woodvillage, Oregon, posted on Instagram that he also signed with Detroit. The Tigers selected Hamilton in the 11th round where picks are not slotted.
Hamilton was originally an Oregon State commitment but flipped to LSU as a senior. He was also considered a longshot to reach campus.
The White Sox met his number, and he will move on. Players must sign contracts by July 28 to join a Major League organization.
