The New Orleans Saints have unveiled their new alternate uniforms, and as many had hoped, (including defensive end Cam Jordan) the team is bringing back their beloved gold jersey look.

The first looks at the new uniform were released Tuesday morning, one day ahead of the start of training camp, via social media.
It seems that our deep-dive into the teaser video released earlier this month was accurate in predicting the gold look.Â
In the official announcement, the new jersey is paired with the team’s black helmets which have received mostly underwhelming responses since being released in 2022. Though this new look may give the helmets new life, especially juxtaposed to the team’s new all-white helmet that will be paired with the famed Color Rush jerseys.
This is the first time the Saints have released a gold jersey since 2002 and many have been hopeful for its return. Jordan has campaigned for the look for years, hence the satisfied smile that can be seen as he extracts the uniform from a gold equipment bag in the release video.

New Orleans will hope that this new uniform combination, paired with black pants, can turn around the bad luck that has so far accompanied the black helmets. The team is currently 0-4 while wearing those caps since their release.
Ultimately, this new uniform combination, paired with the earlier release of the white helmets continues to redesign the Saints’ appearance as they work to rebuild their winning identity.
