The New Orleans Saints are continuing their roster adjustments during the training camp day off. Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the team is expected to sign offensive lineman Shane Lemieux.

The name should sound familiar as Lemieux started four games and appeared in six for the Saints last year.
The former Oregon Ducks offensive lineman was the backup center in New Orleans while he was healthy, but did miss some time due to injury.
It’s unclear whether or not this move was made to cover for an injury that’s not yet been reported or if the Saints have simply decided to get a look at another potential backup in the interior. But there will need to be a corresponding move for this signing to make room on the roster.
New Orleans has seen some errant snaps throughout camp practices behind starter Erik McCoy. With the drop off that the Saints experienced behind McCoy last year, getting a look at as many options as possible makes sense.
During his six games with the Saints in 2024, Lemieux allowed 12 total pressures with one sack, per Pro Football Focus. He spent all 337 of his snaps at center, but has precious experience at both the left and right guard spots.
