While it’s fun to track all of the quarterback stats throughout training camp practices, the guys that are helping to accumulate those numbers deserve some love, too. The New Orleans Saints have had an eventful and energetic camp so far. While the team enjoys a day off, let’s look back at the players that have reeled in the variety of team drills receiving touchdowns so far.
The focus here will eliminate 7-on-7 touchdown catches, just for the sake of keeping things as close to game action as possible.
NOTE: These numbers are from our individual chartings at LouisianaSports.Net, not official numbers.
WR Mason Tipton – 3
Tipton has caught one touchdown from each quarterback during team drills. He’s added several big plays along the way with 7-on-7s included. His most common showings of quarterback chemistry have been with Spencer Rattler, who currently holds the edge in the top position battle.

The Yale alum was a standout last year during training camp, but suffered an injury which stymied his momentum. This year, he’s showing that his eye-catching ability was no fluke.
WR Rashid Shaheed – 3
Shaheed is tied for the camp lead in team drill touchdown receptions with three. Two of his are from Rattler with one coming from rookie Tyler Shough as well. The unique detail to Shaheed’s score is the multiple nature of them. Sure, he’s caught his signature deep ball, but he also took a slant from Rattler to the house in what would have been an electrifying play.

Shaheed has also shown strong hands in traffic as he’s become a solid contested catch option over his years.
TE Juwan Johnson – 1
Johnson has been seemingly not able to guarded in 7-on-7 drills where he has multiple touchdown catches. But in team drills, he has one from Rattler, which isn’t a bad thing at all. Johnson has become a go-to target all over the field. He’s come up with some big plays, even if not scores, during team drills. The tight end is finding new ways to win with the growing variety of routes he’s been asked to run in his new offense.

Johnson will potentially be off the field for another practice or so with a groin injury. But once he’s back, he should return to his impressive production and form quickly.
RBs Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller – 1
Both running backs have caught catch-and-run touchdowns from Rattler. Kamara was on a nifty screen to the left of the field that required some fancy footwork to get free, meanwhile Miller waltzed in on a quick pass out to the flats in the right side of the field. Like Johnson, the running backs will be key contributors in a variety of ways for their young passers.
WRs Bub Means and Moochie Dixon – 1
Both pass-catchers have snagged touchdown scores from Jake Haener. Dixon holstered a bomb down the field getting over the top of the defense while Means shook free in red zone drills.
