The Arch Manning sweepstakes among NFL bottom feeders will have to wait until 2027, according to the Texas quarterback’s namesake.
In an extensive feature on the Manning Family in Texas Monthly, Archie Manning said his grandson will not enter the 2026 NFL Draft. “Arch isn’t going to do that. He’ll be at Texas,” the 76-year-old former NFL quarterback said.
Arch Manning, a 6-foot-4, 219 pound redshirt sophomore, is taking the reigns at Texas after Quinn Ewers left for the NFL. The former five-star prospect has appeared in 12 games with two starts during his two seasons in Austin.
Despite his light resume, Manning is the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy and the Longhorns are tied with Ohio State as the favorites to win the national title.
Texas lost in the semifinals to the Buckeyes last season. The two teams meet in Columbus to open the season on August 30.
