Garrett Nussmeier has tendinitis in his patella.
“For the record, he has tendinitis, patella tendonitis. He does not have a torn ACL,” said LSU head coach Brian Kelly. “We have not amputated his leg. He was out there today throwing. Tomorrow he’ll be back out most likely in a practice situation. I thought we should calm everybody down. And a lot of that is due to his 2023 Osgood-Schlatter surgery that he had where then tendon was irritated back then. So, this is just chronic…we’ll calm it down.”

After a couple of days of internet rumors about the fifth-year senior quarterback’s health, Kelly informed local media that Nussmeier was dealing with some knee discomfort but was not dealing with a serious injury.
“I think he just planted, and when you have something that is a preexisting condition, you can piss it off pretty easily,” Kelly said.
Numerous reports on Thursday confirmed that Nussmeier’s situation was not serious, but LSU’s closing of Friday’s practice raised some eyebrows.
“On a scale of 1-to-10, this is a 1.5,” Kelly said.
