Panasiuk was present at Tuesday’s practice and seen by reporters. However, the transaction took another day to be processed.
He’s an intriguing addition for the team that has had several injuries already along its offensive line and bring quite the resume with him from his highly-decorated spring league play.
Panasiuk is a two-time All-UFL player (2024, 2025) and received All-XFL honors in 2023. During his three spring league seasons, he spent over 1,000 snaps at center, allowing only seven career sacks over that time, per Pro Football Focus.
He has not yet appeared in an NFL game despite having spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders, Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts since 2020.
The former Michigan State Spartan could help the Saints immensely if he can translate his recent success to the NFL. New Orleans has struggled to find quality depth behind starting center Erik McCoy, though undrafted free agent rookie Torricelli Simpkins III has shown a lot of potential in recent weeks.
With Will Clapp out for the season, Panasiuk arrives just in time to help New Orleans, but also just in time to elevate his opportunity to land a real opportunity to make an NFL 53-man roster or practice squad.
