METAIRIE, La. – The New Orleans Saints were back on the practice field Tuesday and switched to their regular season schedule for the day, allowing the media a short viewing window in the process.

Here is the attendance, what we saw and a brief look at the quarterback rotation.

Quarterback Rotation

While we did not see team drills or even 7-on-7s during the practice viewing window, we could see that second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler was first in the rotation. Rookie quarterback Tyler Shough was second, followed by Jake Haener.

What We Saw

The media was allowed a 20-minute viewing window that included stretching, individual drills, and quarterbacks working solo routes with pass-catchers.

Attendance

  • CB Alontae Taylor (groin)
  • TE Taysom Hill (PUP)
  • SAF Terrell Burgess
  • LG Trevor Penning (toe)
  • Foster Moreau (PUP)

The following players returned after missing recent practices:

A New Face

Saints’ new center Luke Fortner was present for the day, wearing No. 63. He was acquired hours after the team’s preseason matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars in a trade that sent Fortner to New Orleans in exchange for defensive tackle Khalen Saudners.
