Saturday night wasn’t Garrett Nussmeier’s most prolific night, but it was a great one.
The senior signal caller was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday for his 28-for-38, 230-yard performance in LSU’s 17-10 win at Clemson. Nussmeier fired a touchdown to Trey’Dez Green and was not intercepted. He also ran for a second quarter first down.
Nussmeier spread the ball to nine different targets and appeared to be in complete command all night even against a tough Clemson front.
This is the third time Nussmeier has earned the honor, winning it twice last season against Ole Miss and UCLA.
Nussmeier’s center Braelin Moore was also honored on Monday. He was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week.
The Virginia Tech transfer played all 70 offensive snaps and helped keep star Clemson defensive tackle Peter Woods in check.
