There are plenty of big games on tap in the SEC this weekend, but the Coaches Teleconference didn’t produce many headlines. Here’s what you may have missed.
LSU
Brian Kelly provided an update on injured center Braelin Moore, listing him as probable. Moore practiced Tuesday and is expected to participate again Wednesday.
Kelly also had some interesting things to say on recently departed DT Sydir Mitchell.
“Look, there are standards, right? I mean, I can confirm that he is no longer on the roster, but we have standards that need to be met, and those standards weren’t met. Like any business or organization, you have workplace standards, and so those standards weren’t met. And really, that’s all I’m going to talk about, relative to Sydir, because he’s no longer with us.”
Arkansas
Sam Pittman had a pretty funny anecdote on the infamous 4th and 25 play from 2015 between Arkansas and Ole Miss.
“Hunter (Henry) did that on his own. He’s a smart player.”
Alabama
Kalen DeBoer announced that Jah-Marien Latham, Tim Keenan and Jam Miller are all game time decisions. Sophomore standout Ryan Williams will play.
He added that Isaiah Horton is healthy again and progressing well in practice, noting his intensity has been a valuable addition to the team.
Bubba Hampton, a former four-star receiver from Texas, is no longer with the team.
Florida
Billy Napier spoke briefly on playing former players Jack Pyburn and Ja’Keem Jackson.
“Nothing personal. We don’t talk about it a lot. We got a lot of respect for all these guys, and we’ve had a number of those scenarios in the past. So, our guys will be ready to play regardless of who’s on the other side.”
