METAIRIE, La. – After missing Wednesday’s practice, the New Orleans Saints welcomed back starting right tackle Taliese Fuaga.
The offensive lineman told NOLA.com’s Matt Paras that he was confident that he would be back on the field this week, and his prediction came to fruition on Thursday.
Here are the players that were not seen during the option portion of Thursday’s practice:
S Julian Blackmon (Shoulder)
T/G Trevor Penning (Toe)
DE Chase Young (Calf)
Blackmon is expected to be moved to Injured Reserve in the coming days following his shoulder injury. Rookie safety Jonas Sanker is in line to step into the role against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Meanwhile, Penning and Young remain absent at practice.
Still, Young’s injury is not expected to be long-term. However, it is beginning to look like his calf injury may cost him a second consecutive game.
Offensive lineman Dillon Radunz looks primed for a second start at left guard. He fared well against the Arizona Cardinals last week allowing just one pressure.
The injury report will be released later today, which will include practice participation designations. The team will practice again on Friday and game designations will be made available.
