ESPN ranks Houston the No. 1 prep quarterback in the country in 2027. Rivals and 247sports have him No. 14.
Houston took the reins of the Evangel offense as a sophomore and immediately grabbed attention. He set the national high school record with 817 passing yards in a single game.
Though he’s only 5-foot-10, Houston has a strong arm and is a good athlete. He chose LSU over Oklahoma, Texas and Clemson among others.
LSU did not sign a prep quarterback in the Class of 2025 and does not have one committed in 2026. Joe Sloan and Brian Kelly are still recruiting elite prospects in Elijah Haven and Colton Nussmeier for 2027.
Houston becomes the first quarterback in LSU’s 2027 class. He may not be the last.
